Service and
Repairs We begin 2006 by
opening the workshop at Ocean Quay,
Southampton. With our experience in the industry we have designed the
workshop for the modern outboard as well as the older ones. We know that our
time is your money when your outboard goes wrong. Outboards are getting bigger
and bigger, and ever more technical. Imagine you have a
7.5 Meter Rib and a 225 HP 4 stroke used commercially as a charter dive boat,
you are fully booked and an intermittent running fault occurs. After an hour's
running at 5500 rpm, the engine shuts down half way to the dive site; it
restarts but keeps shutting down, you need to get if fixed, and fast. Most
dealers you go to have to plug a laptop into the engine, get out of the harbour,
charge around the Solent at 50 Knots for an hour before the fault occurs, then,
when it does their laptop battery is flat. 3 hours wasted, and the fault is
still there. We have installed a
specialist ‘drive in test tank’
capable of running twin 300 hp outboards full throttle, still on your boat, but
in our workshop. We don’t even have to change the props. This enables us to
test every outboard under full load just as it would be at sea, but without
going afloat or taking the outboard off the boat. And of course, still being in
the workshop, we have All the tools rigging and set up needed to hand. With
instruments, the ability to order any
parts there and then. This will save time
when fault finding all outboards big or small, which in turn will save
You money and time off the water. Rigging and Set up Over the years we
have become well known for our Boat / Outboard Rigging experience. Whether it is
a 10’ tender with a Honda 10 or a Marlin 28 with twin Suzuki DF 250’s and
every extra you can imagine, we can handle it. With overhead lifting
equipment and transom drilling plates we can ensure the outboard is mounted
correctly. with instrument templates we ensure every boat is identical. Every outboard is
fitted to the highest standard possible. As standard at least one water
separating fuel filter is fitted, Ultra low friction control cables are used,
and all cables are hidden in rigging hose and any electrical connectors used are
waterproof, not the automotive type ! On completion all systems are tested,
engines are Pre Delivery Inspected and tested in the test tank. We also give you
a list of all the parts we used during the rigging, ( i.e. battery isolator
switches ) so you or your customer can re order replacement parts should they
fail.
